The Archibalds came from Dickinson's Landing in the St. Lawrence River-Prescott area and moved to various places: Elora, Clinton, Hamilton, and started the Dundas Roller Mills (in Dundas, Ont. and Minn.). The Traders Bank was owned by one of the Archibalds. Richard Johnston was born in 1835 in Ireland, came to Canada with his parents in 1849, and settled in Toronto. Annie Johnston married William Godfrey in 1880.
